Dr Georgina Lyons

Dermatologist

MBBS (Hons), BMedSci (Hons), MPH+Trop Med (Hons), FACD

After finishing high school, topping the state with perfect scores in all subjects and an ATAR score of 99.95, Dr Lyons went into medicine to help people live longer, healthier, and happier lives. Now, over two decades later, Dr Lyons is an experienced Medical, Surgical, and Paediatric Dermatologist and a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists. She undertook her medical training at the University of Melbourne (Victoria), and the University of Oxford (U.K.), graduating with Honours. She also completed a Bachelor of Medical Science (University of Oxford, U.K.) and a Master of Public Health and Tropical Medicine degree (James Cook University, Qld), graduating from both with Honours.

Dr Lyons completed her Dermatology specialist training in Melbourne and in Singapore. Committed to excellence, she graduated top of Australia in her Dermatology Fellowship exams, joining an elite group of Australia’s most pre-eminent Dermatologists. For this she was was awarded the prestigious Australasian College of Dermatologists Fellowship Prize, a scholarship that enabled her to attend the American Academy of Dermatology annual conference to further her knowledge. She was also awarded the Ken Paver Medal for Excellence in Medical Dermatology.

Dr Lyons is passionate about the early detection, treatment and prevention of skin cancer and her gentle touch and steady hands are ideally suited to skin surgery. She takes pride in achieving optimal outcomes and minimising pain and scarring from procedures.

As a mother of two young children and former Consultant Dermatologist at The Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, Dr Lyons also loves working with children. She is one of the few Dermatologists in Brisbane who specialise in paediatric dermatology, in addition to adult dermatology. Dr Lyons enjoys treating the full spectrum of medical, surgical, paediatric, and vulval dermatological conditions. She has published her research in numerous dermatology journals, acted as a peer reviewer for the Australasian Journal of Dermatology, and presented her research at national and international conferences.

Dr Koraisha Hoosen

Dermatologist

Dr Koraisha Hoosen is a senior Consultant Dermatologist who brings with her a wealth of knowledge and over 15 years of specialist experience in both public and private practice in Dermatology. She is a Fellow of The Australasian College of Dermatologists (FACD).

She graduated cum laude from the University of Natal Medical School, South Africa in 2000, whence she was awarded amongst several Deans Commendations, the EB Adams prize for the best student in the final examination in Medicine and the YK Seedat prize for outstanding achievement in her final year.

After completion of her Medical Degree, she worked in London, United Kingdom in the field of Adult, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, the experience of which equipped her with a profound understanding of the psychosocial impact of skin diseases and motivated her proclivity for skin and Women’s Health. It also inspired her research topic, and she went on to graduate with a Master of Medical Science Degree in Dermatology, on the Quality of Life of patients with HIV associated Kaposi Sarcoma in 2007. 

Dr Hoosen successfully completed her Fellowship in Dermatology in South Africa in May 2009, through the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa (CMSA) and acquired her surgical skills training through the Global Health Dermatologic Surgery Training Program sponsored by Columbia University, Harvard’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Blade and Light International, and the University of Kwazulu-Natal.

In addition to being highly revered by her peers for her specialist expertise, she was solicited by the Nelson R Mandela School of Medicine, as a Research Supervisor, Honorary Lecturer and Examiner and by the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa as a Lecturer and Examiner in the Dermatology specialist exams. As a member of the Expert Committee, she contributed to devising therapeutic protocols and guidelines for the Department of Dermatology and formulating the core syllabus for undergraduates. In her pursuit to expand and decentralize specialist skin care whilst simultaneously educating and empowering doctors and nurses in rural hospitals, Dr Hoosen was instrumental in establishing tele-dermatology and in initiating ‘flying doctor’ services.

Dr Hoosen is a general dermatologist with special interest in Women’s Health and Medical Dermatology, in particular: acne, eczema, psoriasis, autoimmune bullous diseases, connective tissue diseases and tropical dermatoses. Her commitment to her patients, academia and research ensures that she keeps up to date with cutting edge technology in dermatology.


Dr Mitch Robinson

Dermatologist

Dr Mitch Robinson is an Australian-trained, Board-Certified Dermatologist and a distinguished Fellow of the Australian College of Dermatologists. With dual specialty fellowships accredited by the Australian Medical Council, Dr. Robinson is a seasoned expert in the field of medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology.

In addition to his fellowship, Dr. Robinson has been awarded a postgraduate Master’s degree in the surgical and medical management of skin cancer. His comprehensive training and notable credentials make him a leading authority in skin care, spanning from medical and cosmetic dermatology to advanced surgical skin cancer management.
